Dr. Barbosa, You are the glue that has held this school together since it opened. You make us all feel like we are a team, and you genuinely make us feel appreciated. Your sense of humor has kept us afloat during the difficult times and made the good times even more fun. You inspire the teachers to be their best by appreciating and acknowledging our strengths and by approaching us in a way that makes it clear that you’re helping us grow rather than reprimanding us when we need to improve in some way.

Just last week I said to my wife, “I wish I could tell Barbosa how much I love her without seeming like I’m trying to be a teacher’s pet.” I really can’t describe how much I have enjoyed working with you. When I say I hope to be like you someday, I truly mean it.

This school will not be the same without you, and I know I’m going to miss you every day. Thank you for making me feel supported, for helping me to be better, and for always putting a smile on my face.
