Diana Alvarado, graduating senior

From Diana Alvarado

Dear Incoming Seniors,

Your time in high school is about to come to an end!

Some of you might take this as an opportunity to get into your dream college or to plan what is coming next after high school. For others, this might be the end of an era, and you still don’t know what you want to pursue in life. No matter where you are, just know that you’re fine.

This upcoming year is going to be very different and important. You will have so many things to focus on beyond just studying for your classes. This year is going to come with a lot of college applications. Some of those applications might be complicated or you might say that they are a waste of time, but in reality, all of those applications might change your life for the better. The college application process might scare some of you, but it will pay off later. You must show how resilient you are and show what you are made of.

I know that all through your freshman and junior years, you guys worked hard to be where you are now, but it does not mean that it will be the year to slack off and not do anything from now on. This is the year where you get the chance to start deciding what to do with your life.

I think most of you guys are going to be fine. Keep your grades up and try not to catch senioritis. Try to have fun in the last months you have before graduation. There will be many senior activities that you all will want to be a part of. You might say, “I don’t find it interesting,” or, “it doesn’t sound fun to me,” but in reality they are fun and you will get the chance to make awesome memories.

Sincerely,
Diana A.
