Dear Class of 2022,

It is my honor to salute you for completing your studies at the Passaic Academy for Science & Engineering. Your hard work, commitment, and dedication have paid off. Graduating is a beginning, a fresh new start. It is a splendid achievement.

I clearly remember four years ago when Science opened its doors as a new school in Passaic. Take a moment to look back and realize all that you’ve accomplished and the footprints that you’ve laid as you took a chance in becoming part of a new school, meeting new people, and taking on what some may describe as a challenging workload. You did it. It’s funny how day by day it seems like nothing changes, but when you look back everything is different. You are now ending this very important chapter of your life. Well done Senior Class!

Completing your high school education is certainly an achievement that you should be proud of and the beginning of more great journeys in your life. Chasing your dreams is not an easy job. It requires lots of passion, lots of commitments, and true dedication, as you have proven during your four years of high school at Science.

Now you are ready to begin another chapter; real life. Real-life may be more complicated. So, it is important to have determination, optimism, and patience. Remember, do not step back – only forward. Always be on your toes, alert, and respectful to other people. Most importantly, be bold and full of dreams since they will keep you going. Know that you are capable of great things and believe in them. Don’t lose the dream to learn. Learning is one of the most modest possessions someone can acquire. Don’t stop reading, don’t stop writing, and never, ever give up on learning. Keep wisdom the rest of your life. I do not doubt that you can make a very significant contribution to the world out there.

Class of 2022, I wish you the best!. Thank you for making me love my dream as an educator. Find yours.

With love and pride, I send you sincere congratulations,

Loren Barbosa, Ed.D.
