Anadalay Martinez, Op/Ed editor

Anadalay Martinez, people often mispronounce her name every single time, even after she has corrected them. People often think that her first name is “Ana” and that “dalay” is her middle name when her full first name is “Anadalay”. She prefers to be addressed as Ana. She is in journalism all throughout the 2020 to 2021 scholastic year. She has been a part of journalism for a year and a half now because she took a Creative writing course her junior year(2019-2021) where she wrote memoirs and such. She is currently in journalism because she was obligated to take the course. Ana is a part of multiple clubs on campus, including National Honors Society, Key Club, and the Newspaper. Ana loves and adores animals therefore she hopes to become vegan one day. Since she loves animals, the veganism lifestyle values an animal’s life above anything and everyone else. The majority of vegans become vegan for the animals, while others do it for their health. Ana educated herself about the vegan lifestyle and how beneficial it is not only for individuals but also our environment. Since she loves animals, she effectively uses her social media accounts by following and promoting vegan accounts to educate others about the importance of climate change and how the majority of the population’s diet is affecting the only earth we have. Ana also supports and promotes non-profit organizations to her followers through her personal social media accounts. In her free time, she supports the non-profit organizations that care for pets and all animals in general. Since she loves animals so much, she is academically focusing on becoming a veterinarian one day. She believes in the saying if you love your job, you wouldn’t work a day in your life. Ana will feel better about herself if she is capable of professionally helping or caring for animals when they are hurt/injured. She would feel extremely useful every time she gets the chance of  saving or helping any type of animals because she acknowledges that she did something good for another being in the only planet that both of them have.
